MD2 Project Progression

For this week, we've decided to scratch our idea of creating an animation using Adobe Animate. Although we have used Youtube tutorials to help guide and educate us on how to use Animate to the best of our abilities, it seems we can't quite get the hang of it.

However, we've decided to expand our concept on Stephaine's frame-by-frame technique. With this in mind, myself and Valerie set out to buy coloured and textured paper to draw our miniature characters and create background.

We researched previous work which had a similar theme, or vibe, that we are aiming for. We came across a 2D animation created by Brandon Ray which really appealed to us (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvfF1YNDrTw). 

As we are already pushed for a bit of time, we concluded 2D stop motion animation was our best option within our skill range and started to develop on this idea. 


Creating and Design 

I bought two different booklets of coloured paper - one plain (for characters) and one slightly textured (for backgrounds). 




Using a variation of different coloured pages, we cut them into tiny shapes to create characters and objects for a scene.

Original Game Brainstorm.

If I was to make a game, I would like it to be simple yet effective and addictive, thus why I came up with the following ideas: 1. As my first idea I thought of something very simple and easy, a game where the aim of the game is to stack objects (e.g different animated animals) on one another, until the user misses the stack or the stack topples over. The objects will keep alternating from left to right, and when the user thinks that it aligns perfectly with the stack underneath they can release the object to fall onto the stack below. It's a very basic idea, but I think it makes it all the more addictive, as the objective is simple and achievable by almost everyone. In terms of levels, I think it would be cool to make different levels that are optional, but only unlocked after receiving a certain amount of points on the first level. These other levels could include like different shapes or a time mode, to see how many can be stacked in a certain amount of time. Another mode coul...

Thoughts on technology tools.

Are you already familiar with some of these technology tools? I'm quite familiar with bookmarking sites and image editing due to last year, but only as of recent have I become familiar with blogging. However, I'm not familiar with Graphics Creation, Padlet or Unity 3D. How is this online environment like/unlike what you have experienced in other classes? I would say that it's unlike any of my other modules because not only is my work on display for the rest of the year to see, but I can also view others work and progress. I think that this can be very helpful in terms of relative inspiration for my blog. Are there any technical skills that you really want to work on this semester? Graphics Creation really interests me, I would love to learn how to create my own graphics for photos for my blog. This is Unity 3D's logo, something I will learn more about in my Multimedia module.
